I’m currently Shaw Education Trust’s Humanities Director, leading and supporting Humanities in Primaries and Secondaries across their trust in the Midlands and North West. Previously I was Ormiston’s Senior Lead for Humanities and led a group of Humanities Lead Practitioners supporting Humanities across 40 schools (primary and secondary) all over England. I’m a Teaching and Learning and Curriculum enthusiast, a lover of Ed research and passionate about CPD. I’ve ran two History SCITTs, worked at the OAKs teacher training, led on ECTs across a trust and within a school (back in the day when they were NQTs!). I’ve been a leadership coach, as well as being involved in writing the NPQLTD for EDT, which I also facilitate on. I started out as History teacher and over the years I’ve also taught RE, Geography and Citizenship (which I also led across the school). I was a History Head of Department at a Teaching and Research school called John Taylor where the History GCSE results were in the top 1% in the country. Over the years I’ve also worked as Specialist Leader in Education for ITT/NQTs as well for History and I was Staffordshire’s History Advanced Skills Teacher. Outside of work you will normally find my on the football sidelines cheering my two boys on at football, catching up with friends or convincing my hubby it’s surely time to book another holiday!
